For the past three months I've been engulfed in a sea of drawing and book promo planning for my new book I Love My Hair (out in November). My social life this summer was non-existent: no beach, no pool, and no cookouts. It was a lot of work, which meant minimal sleep, and a lot of arm exercises. But it was the best time ever. This is the work I am meant to do and I loved every minute of it.
When I submitted my final files, a little corner of my heart was sad that the drawing part of the process was over. Of course, I can always draw but there's something about a definitive deadline for a specific project. I had no choice but to focus, which I'm a little flexible with when it comes to my personal projects.
Because of the book I had to put a hold on everything, including the blog. But now I am happy to be back to share some new inspirations along with artists and designers I'm loving, and updates on launch events for the book (so excited about these and can't wait to give more details).
To get back into the groove I want to share this campaign for Brazilian clothing brand Farm Rio's Black Retro by photographer Raphael Lucena. Some of these photos have been circling the web for some time but it took forever for me to find the credit for the images. Aren't they just lovely?
