Who? Candice W. age "20-10" ... ok, 30 :)
Where? Originally from Arkansas, I currently reside in Cincinnati, Ohio.
What do you do? I practice as a registered nurse for a living 3 days a week. I'm a fashion blogger 24/7! I enjoy mixing designer pieces with items that are more economical to create chic, practical attire for everyday wear as well as special occasions. I would love to be a stylist when I grow up :)
What inspires you? I am inspired by things that are unusual or not the "typical" idea of beauty.
Why are you fly? I'm fly because I never let someone else's opinion dictate my actions, which is why I started a fashion blog based in Cincinnati of all places.
Advice: I think that a lot of young women need to know that an extensive designer wardrobe is not necessary to be fly. Being fly is not about your "outfit" but more about your "look" — it's about how you rock what you have.

I had a wonderful time and cannot wait to share the many photos and stories about my trip. Here's one photo from my visit to the magical Plaza de España in Seville.

Karolin Schnoor, one of my favorite illustrators, just relaunched her portfolio website showcasing her latest illustrations and designs.
There you can also see images of her beautiful paper goods like stationery sets and a Jumping Jack Paper Doll that you assemble.

These hand-dyed fringe necklaces from Three Horses are the perfect way to add flair and color to a t-shirt and jeans, or any outfit.

Where? I'm the typical Jamaican who relocated to New York and then eventually found myself living in South Florida. I don't know why, but a lot of us tend to do that :).
What do you do? I'm a freelance makeup artist, who plans to eventually turn my love of the cosmetics industry into my own lucrative empire. For now, I concentrate on my personal blog entitled Love, Loss and Lacquer where I share everything from everyday happenings, to my affinity for beauty products as well as baby loss.
What inspires you? I'm inspired by rags to riches stories. I feel if a little girl named Oprah Winfrey from rural Mississippi can become one of the most powerful women in the world, then I can surely position and prepare myself for my dreams to come to fruition as well. Overall, I'm inspired by positive people who change your mood for the better when you see them and always have something inspiring to say.
Why are you fly? I'm fly because I refuse to give up! Though life hasn't always dealt me the best hand, I see no reason to throw in the towel and declare myself a victim. I will continue to press towards the life I envision for myself no matter what challenge comes my way. I will continue to be fly as long as I get up more times than I'm knocked down.

Harvest creates handprinted pillows, blankets, and other brightly colored goodies for the home. I want each and every one of those pillows.

Jewelry designer of L’élephant Rose, Sherisa de Groot, shares with Fly a few things she loves right now.
Nesting. After getting married and moving half way around the world, I've become much more attached to my "space" than ever before. I don't always feel the "foreigner in a strange land" vibe, but I do feel a need to want to stake claim at some things. Our apartment is one of them. Right now I'm obsessing over our kitchen. I would love to get one of these cutting boards from Grey Work Design.
Music. Lianne la Havas & Zara MacFarlane - my two favorite sounds from last year and after having a chance to meet and have conversation with them both, I'm in full on girl crush mode. More importantly, they've both in their own way reawakened a certain sleeping writing giant inside of me. I'm so excited and scared to delve into this new territory. I love them both even more after meeting and speaking with them. Please check out Lianne and Zara if you haven't already.

A few months back I purchased the above canvas pouch from Missibaba. It's where I keep my hand-lotion, pens, lip balm, lip glosses, and other odds and ends so they don't get lost in the abyss of my huge bag. Everytime I pull out the brightly colored pouch I get comments and questions about where I purchased the cute find.
Missbaba is a Capetown based leather and textile handbag and accessories brand created by designer Chloe Townsend. With the help of a handful of women, tote-bags, clutches, and handbags are handmade with boast with leathers and canvas fabrics printed with bold patterns and colors.
The folks at Missibaba, gives Fly a little peek into their studio, inspirations, and a look at their latest collection which launched last week.
