Who? Amanda, 24.
Where? Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, undergrad in the LA area, grad school in DC, with a little mix of South Africa and Thailand in between.
What do you do? Grad student, (extremely) amateur photographer, aspiring activist and educator and blogger.
What inspires you? Women. I'm inspired by how we are the carriers of this world. We have so much potential power to change social injustices on a grassroots level, which, I believe, constitutes real change.
Why are you Fly? I guess I'm fly because I'm trying to lead a selfless life where i serve a purpose greater than my own.
Advice: To me, a life worth living, a full life, can only be achieved when when we are at peace with ourselves and define who we are. We don't succumb to the projections of others and what they think we are. I think that when we are secure within ourselves and remain grounded with a strong foundation, nothing can tear us down.
