Dang, this woulda been a perfect post for Memorial Day. Oh well, it's never too late.
My dad was a military man. Growing up I would always rummage through old photos where he was rocking his uniform — looking so sharp, or my mom's jewelry box where he kept old military pins and a name plate that simply read "PIPPINS" in bold white letters. Every now and then we still chat about those little souvenirs and what they were used for.
One of my prized possessions from his days in service is a faded khaki-olive shirt with black chevron patches on the sleeve. I'm a fan of military inspired looks and have always wanted to rock this shirt. Sadly, it's a little big for me and I would never alter it for the sake of fashion.
