Welcome back. Hope you all had a lovely holiday and holiday weekend. For me the break was all about catching up. Here's some stuff going on:
I Love My Hair Blog - With the millions of blogs out there do you really need another one? Yes. With the launch of the I Love My Hair shop it felt right to have a blog to go along with it. The new blog will focus on Black natural hair (mainly the afro) in art and design. I'm always so delighted to see how our hair is interpreted in illustrations, prints, paintings, packaging, etc. and thought this would be a fun way to share my findings. Initially I was afraid that it would be too specific of a topic to give me a lot of imagery but so far so good. I love a challenge anyway so let's see how much I can find to keep it going. If you create something or see something that would be perfect to post on the new I Love My Hair blog feel free to email me here. (P.S. There might be some crossover images from Fly to the I Love My Hair blog but that's only when it's an image I really love and feel needs to be shared again.)
I Love My Hair Shop - As I mentioned last week most of the images are sold out but I will be restocking this week. The Untitled Hair prints will be available today and the screen-prints later this week. Stay on the look out for more shop updates.
Colab Studios Hosts Lobo Mau - Recently a fellow artist and I decided to share a studio space together. Primarily, it functions as our workspace but we also use it for events and parties. This weekend we'll be hosting Lobo Mau's Holiday Trunk Show. If you're around definitely stop by to check out their Amazonian inspired jewelry and printed bags.
