Kinky, Coily, Curly + Have a Fly Weekend!

I thought I'd finish off the week with another hair poster (number 2 of 5). I didn't mention before that the posters are hand-lettered, scanned and fine-tuned in Photoshop. Each hair-style is based off of a photograph from my collection of natural hair images. This one was inspired by a natural look Rakia was rocking. The previous one I featured was inspired by the hair of TV personality Tanika Ray (see the first poster here). I did tons of natural hair research for these posters, I should show you guys my mood board. Maybe I'll do that next week.

I'm Loving Chartreuse

Lately I've been attracted to everything chartreuse. The color is just a little shy of neon green, there's more yellow in the mix and it feels more acidic. I've been using variations of the color in my design work and finally introduced it to my wardrobe with this fun summer dress from Urban Outfitters. I couldn't find this particular color on the site, but there were plenty in store (downtown Philly one). Oh one thing, this dress is a little see-thru.

Lula Magazine Issue 8

I picked up the latest issue of Lula Magazine because I loved the image of Chanel Iman on the cover and these beautiful portrait photographs featuring model Robin H. Although it's a little expensive because it's printed in England, the magazine itself is wonderful. I love the styling, the features and the articles.
