What do you do? Fashion/Beauty Blogger (www.pinkdiamondpr.blogspot.com), local freelance publicist & donor relations (development) professional for a university – My dream is to own my own local marketing/pr firm and a clothing boutique.
What inspires you? Creativity inspires me. That’s why I love blogging. It gives me a chance to express myself to the world and to connect with people who are also creative that I may not have ever had the chance to connect with.
Why are you fly? I am fly because I am a professional dreamer and self-motivator. This may sound crazy, but I keep a notebook by my bed and sometimes I will wake up at different times during the night just jotting down creative ideas for myself and others. I love to see people become their best and achieve their dreams and goals. This may sound cliché but my favorite quote is; “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that strengthens us”. That quote really speaks to my heart and soul. For as much as we say (or think) that fear is our greatest motivator – I think the opposite. Personally, I think that deep down inside we know that our future is greater than us and something bigger than we can ever imagine and that’s what frightens us. It’s the fear of the unknown and the unimaginable. It’s the light and the star power that is within all of us. When we wake up in the morning we have two simple choices: Go back to sleep and dream or wake up and chase those dreams. The choice is ours…I choose to wake up and chase them. That’s why I am fly.
Advice: Always, Always, Always believe in yourself. Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t achieve something. Also, don’t let society dictate who you should be or what you should look like. Set your own standards. To me, that’s what separates the leaders from the followers. If you are happy and healthy and strive to be the best in life – then that’s all that matters.
