I'm really into this blog, Love is Near, which features really funky clothing. There I discovered naKIMuli, an Etsy shop of vintage pieces and custom made designs. That hot-pinkish pant jumper pictured second row right is calling me. Fabulous!

Rich fabrics, eclectic patterns and delicate layering make up the pretty aesthetic of Nadia Nour's Spring 2009 collection.

Who? Nkeiruka Oruche, 25
Where? I'm Nigerian. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area
What do you do? I work with a youth development organization for school-aged children as a health and fitness director; this has a combination of everything I like to do: dance, cook, be creative, have fun, play my part in shaping the future of the world (youth) positively and more. I'm also a co-founder and organizer for www.one3snapshot.com which is an art & graphic design collective with a driving force in social change & community mobility; we produce screen printed t-shirts, handmade accessories & one-of-a kind hand-painted clothing.
What inspires you? I'm inspired by the possibility of change, growth and transformation of a person internally as well as in relationships with their various environments. I'm constantly encouraged by the idea that pain, hurt and hardship can be transformed into peace, power and beauty; through my own personal experience and that of people close to me. I am moved to be creative by the belief that I can instill seeds of this possibility into others, as others have done and still do for me. My inspiration comes from the knowledge that I'm bountifully blessed, and must share the wealth of such blessings with others.
Why are you fly? I'm fly because somehow, no matter how tired I've been, I keep bouncing back!
Advice: Trust your strength and use it. Never stop asking questions but don't let the questions immobilize from doing what needs to get done. Try new things. Keep a planner, calendar & notebook that you can always look back on as documentation for your life. Laugh a lot. Be organized and form a routine to be more efficient but allow yourself to break the routine & be spontaneous. You shouldn't feel guilty because everything will still be in order when you return from your 'vacation'. Drink lots of water and be physically active (not just the gym), do something that is fun for you.

I love these ink blot drawings from artist Kaitlyn Sullivan. Some of the pieces have embroidered details which adds a little texture to the image. Nice :).

On one of my favorite blogs, The Ministry of Type, I discovered a document called Studies in Pen Art, which included these remarkable calligraphic birds. So beautiful. Learn more here.
