I'm A Huge Fan of Pretty Pajamas!

When it's chilly out, there's nothing like a set of cozy pjs to keep you warm while you're in bed or lounging around the house. Sleepwear company, Capri Rose has a line of pajama sets in really pretty patterns and colors. So wish I could indulge in a few because I adore pajamas.

House Industries + Agent Provocateur

I always love to see how designers develop their ideas and designs. Agent Provocateur hired lettering studio/type foundry House Industries to re-design their identity. Here are a few images from the HI site showing how they kept the integrity of the original mark while evolving the lettering into a look with a little more character.

Design & Me: Apocalypto

I am so easily distracted when I'm in a creative slump. I will let anything take my mind away from the designs I'm supposed to be working on. The other night was a perfect example of this, although I've seen Apocalypto a dozen times somehow I found myself sitting in front of the television watching it again. I tried to convince myself that I would sketch while I watched but if you've seen this movie you know that it's entirely impossible to take your eyes away from the screen. {{Read more here}}

Who? They call me Sherisa Vassel and I'm 26 
Where? Born and bred in Brooklyn, NY. I still live here. 
What do you do? I am a writer, designer and owner of L'élephant Rose, an online boutique filled with jewelry and hair accessories. 
What inspires you? Music, fashion, weather, my own crazy imagination, my love, reading good work, being around friends. Laughter despite everything. My mother and the stories I remember from my grandmother inspire me. Much of the past, its beauty and pain are major influences as well. 
Why are you fly? I am confident, fearless (left my job to pursue one of my dreams full time) and I'm positive. I am destined for greatness and can still be very humble about it all. I look forward to paying greatness forward. It's all about living to your fullest potential and every day I strive to reach that. 
Advice: Be everything you feel in your heart you are. Live fiercely and passionately. And at then end of the day, give thanks. Give thanks to those who helped you when you were at your worst. Give thanks to the blessings that will follow in the future. And understand living well is not only a right, it's a blessing.

Luminous Sculptures

Sunday I went to an art opening for the work of luminary artist Warren Muller who works in an amazing gallery/studio called Bahdeebahdu. I got there really early before the crowd and only stayed long enough to snap a few photos of all his pieces. Muller's sculptural light installations are so beautiful and the Bahdeebahdu space was fantastic! There were fabulous people to mingle with and so much finger food and wine to go around — too bad I had to get back home to do some work. See more here.
