Simple and Perfect

Here is a great curly hair tip! I've been trying to use less synthetic product in my hair and a friend suggested I try using pure aloe vera gel and a natural oil combo to twist my hair. I used jojoba oil but you can use anything like coconut oil or avocado oil, whatever you like. I tried it and LOVE IT! I used a small amount on each twist and it helped with detangling and it's super healthy for the hair. It also helps minimize the frizz. Try it and let me know what you think. (I tried Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel and liked it better, but it's not as natural as the Trader Joe's version, but try either one).

Love this collection by Japanese designer Junko Shimada. The colors are fun and the play on pattern is beautiful.

One thing I love about the summer is looking cute with very little effort. Whether it's throwing on a tank with shorts or slipping on a light dress with flip flops — you have an instant outfit. Xiang Yang

The Snyderman Gallery is tucked away on a quiet street (Cherry Street, I love streets named after fruits!) in th middle of Old City, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Philly. When I visited this past weekend I was in awe at what I found. Currently, they are featuring the work of Xiang Yang. There were many wonderful pieces of his in different mediums but I was struck by Yang's amazing fiber installations. The colors were beautiful and I loved how the transparency of each piece added a surreal dimension to the work.
