Last Friday my supervisor took our design team on a street art tour. I never been into street art or graffiti but I do appreciate being exposed to other forms of artwork, and any chance to get out of the office for something inspirational is fine with me.
We met up in SoHo and made our way through NoLita, ending our tour in the Lower East Side. I had so much fun. I took over a hundred pictures of the beautiful work that I normally wouldn’t notice when I’m walking down the street. There was such a range of work: bright colorful pieces, typography, along with sweet little drawings and hardcore graffiti tags. There was also 3-D work that’s taking street art to a whole other level. It was so different than what I expected. I want to share the best of my pictures and because there’s so many I will break it up into three posts; the first two are the colorful pieces and the third post will be the grittier art. So keep your eyes out for the posts to come throughout the week.
