A Few Things w/ Sherisa de Groot

Nesting. After getting married and moving half way around the world, I've become much more attached to my "space" than ever before. I don't always feel the "foreigner in a strange land" vibe, but I do feel a need to want to stake claim at some things. Our apartment is one of them. Right now I'm obsessing over our kitchen. I would love to get one of these cutting boards from Grey Work Design.

Music. Lianne la Havas & Zara MacFarlane - my two favorite sounds from last year and after having a chance to meet and have conversation with them both, I'm in full on girl crush mode. More importantly, they've both in their own way reawakened a certain sleeping writing giant inside of me. I'm so excited and scared to delve into this new territory. I love them both even more after meeting and speaking with them. Please check out Lianne and Zara if you haven't already.

Aja Monet. My true love, friend and inspiration. She is a formidable force of ingenious and inspiration. Her writing makes me feel like the good parts of the old me, when I was much younger and the future parts of me I haven't quite yet discovered. Her friendship has really helped me with my transition. Amsterdam. My new home. I’ve been here a little over a year and I am furthering my gentle love affair with this phase of my life.

Being Married. Corny, perhaps. But I love my husband and being married is just the awesomest thing ever since our entire 4 years prior were long distance. Long as in 3000+ miles apart. It’s nice to love in the same home.
