A few weeks ago I was flipping through the channels on a quiet afternoon and happily stumbled upon How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer (directed by Georgina Riedel). The beautifully shot film captures three generations of Latina women (played by Elizabeth Peña, America Ferrera and Lucy Gallardo) as they explore and challenge what they know about love, sex and femininity.
