We all know having a mentor is necessary especially when you're trying to navigate through your career decisions. But have you ever considered obtaining a mentor within the company you work for? You can either find one on your own or use an internal mentorship program if your company has one.
When I was at Hallmark I had a mentor who was an amazing children's illustrator and who had been with the company for years. Although her illustration style was more traditional she worked some crazy magic with Photoshop tools to make her images look hand-painted or hand-drawn. She shared all those skills with me. I learned so much from her and was grateful for the time she took from her schedule to help me make my work better. [[read on here]]
